Why is my food gray?

My husband upgraded my KitchenAid for my birthday this year and I was so excited. I've only used it twice and now the flat beater attachment is unusable because of a gray residue coming off into the food and on your hands. Despite being hand washed and dried it's still a disaster. I really don't want to have to scrub off a bunch grey stuff every time I start baking. I'm so disappointed in this purchase.

Best Stand Mixer

This was my dream mixer and was fortunate to get one after purchasing our first home. I absolutely love everything about this mixer, the look, color, power and speed of the mixer is awesome. A must have for all home chefs.
