Constant service issues

Purchased this refrigerator in stainless steel in 2020 and it has required three repairs already one under warranty and two out-of-warranty. Most recently over the past five months the water dispenser has begun dispensing by itself spraying water into our kitchen. We have already spent nearly $1000 repairing this fridge and the water dispenser issue remains unresolved. We will replace it soon having wasted nearly $2000 on a refrigerator that lasted exactly four years.

Nice layout ice plus but bad motor

I really like the layout of the fridge and the extra ice maker. However the evaporator motor quit working after 13 months - right after my warranty expired. I was able to replace it but felt that the fridge shouldve been more dependable since it was barely over a year old. It works perfectly after replacing the motor - just be prepared to keep an eye on those kinds of things.

Good for a while.

Purchased 6/21. It has been very serviceable but after cleaning out the freezer compartment I closed the freezer drawer. The compartment was totally empty. When I tried to reopen the door to place some items in the door was stuck. Nothing will open it. Tried unplugging for 3 min then replugging. No go. Very frustrating. The entire freeze unit is now useless. Customer service was no help.

Two years two failures

I bought my LG french door refrigerator 2 years ago. Ive had 2 failures so far. The first was a leak the ice maker located in the door. The second is the circulating fan that moves cool air from the freezer to the refrigerator area. I would not reccoment LG refrigerators.

This part must have been defective

I bought this item in April of 2023. In June of 2024 the ice maker on the door started leaking. It was two months out of warranty. I contacted LG who told me I needed a service call costing between $350-$450 to determine the problem. I contacted a local service company for $125 who told me there was a crack in the tray that holds the water while it is freezing. They wanted $445 to fix it. I bought the part for $256.75 and fixed it myself.

Fine with one big exception......

This is a good looking refrigerator that is relatively spacious for a counter-depth refrigerator. Some refrigerators with ice dispensers sacrifice internal shelf space for ice makers but not this one. The water filter is embedded in the top corner of the fridge and the ice making mechanism is in the door and easily accessible if needed. And I have not had any issues with keeping food at proper temps. My negative issue with this refrigerator is the bulk ice maker located in the freezer. It needed service within the warranty period fortunately and then about 18 months after that it has become completely erratic in its functionality. It will go a few weeks making perfect ice and then it will resort to making a solid chunk of ice for weeks at a time. I finally had to buy an ice pick. I will give credit to the ice dispenser in the door as that has consistently functioned otherwise wed have to buy ice or use the antiquated ice trays - imagine that in this day and age - buying a refrigerator for $2K $3K or more and having to buy ice. This is my third LG refrigerator but I now find myself peeking at other brands. I am hesitant to have any repairs done as I am not confident that repairs with be sustainably effective as the first repair lasted about 18 months before it began to malfunction again. And non-warranty repairs reach 25 of the overall cost or more so not worth it. So I am left to cleaning out the ice bin turning the ice maker off for 24 hrs then hoping it will restart on a good cycle. In fairness if not for this frustrating ice making issue we are big water drinkers so for us this is a real inconvenience I would have given this a 4 or 5 star rating and might not hesitate going to another LG when the time comes.

My LG refrigerator is sadly out of warranty and the housing around the water filter is leaking. LG promised that I would get instant service from a repairman that had the parts if I agreed to LGs $399-$458 very expensive price. I now know that was a scam to get my money. The repair service who called did not have the parts and I am still waiting for service. I feel I could have called this local service myself for much more inexpensive and satisfying results.

I bought the LFXC22526S fridge 11 months ago and it broke down just 3 days ago. The customer service is terrible they are reluctant to send a technician for repair and employees lie to customers. Eventually after 3 days they created a repair ticket and now I have to wait another 5 days for a technician. I dont recommend buying LG refrigerators if you dont want to put yourself in trouble

Poor Customer Service - Defective Unit

I am currently without a refrigerator for over a month due to the unit not cooling. Several technicians later and numerous calls to LG I still am waiting for resolution. The refrigerator is just 3 years old and am told is under warranty. Compressor fans and multiple board replacements have been done . At this time I am STILL waiting for ye another board. Having a hard time getting Any answer on when that will happen. All inquiries seem to be not taken seriously. Very frustrating

I love the refrigerator but when it was delivered I had two bumps in my right door panel. I notified my appliance company upon delivery and they were suppose to replace it but never did. So unhappy with them and LG. Apparently I did not follow up timelynot my responsibility so when I did they said it was too long from purchase date. I have both LG washer and dryer and refrigerator. I will look at other options in the future. Soooo disappointed.

Refrigerator is great even with 1 warranty repair

I bought this refrigerator 3 years ago and my wife loved it. However in November it stopped keeping the freezer section frozen and the refrigerator section wasnt as cool as it should be. I called LG Warranty Service and they scheduled a service technician to check it out. The service technician called a day later to ask some questions and determined that the compressor was defective and said a replacement was ordered. Unfortunately the replacement was the wrong model and had to be reordered. This happened during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays so the new replacement was delayed until January. It was finally received and installed with no problems and has been running fine since that date. Thankful for the warranty and follow through with the repairs labor covered by the warranty.

failure of in-door ice maker and water dispenser

We bought this unit in October 2022. One of the motors there are 4 started making a horribly loud noise in Dec 2023 1.5 most out of the 1 yr purchase warranty. Called LG who made me commit to a pre-visit $380 fee to have a LG certified service rep come out. Service rep came out but of course the refrigerator stopped making the noise that morning. He was unable to do anything. LG charged my credit card the full service fee. The motor fully failed 3 days later. Turns out it was the motor for the indoor ice maker and water dispenser. A quick search on the web shows that this is a common failure point for this unit. So LG got my Christmas budget this year - which makes me sad every time I look at the unit and think about it. The rest of the refrigerator and freezer components are fine and we still use the unit without the in-door water and ice feature which just now drips. I dont mind the unit failing - these things happen. I do mind the charge for no solution by the company and their maintenance team.

Terrible service/still no solution

I called in about a warranty issue and it took a week of calls to finally get someone to admit it was a warranty issue. Then it took two weeks to get service and the part ordered. I still have not received the part and my refrigerators still not working. It is a year old and has not worked for a month. I have been using a cooler the worst service ever I will post on your special media as well and call the Better Business Bureau.

I looked in the manual there was nothing really that kind of caught my eye so the gentleman on the phone just merely said youd not dont touch the icon but the words below it well thats all it took it went away. Many error code dF5 issues. Have had repair numerous times. Always the same problem. Repair people have replaced the tempeture sensor in bottom drawer area twice. Also replaced the electronic board. Unit runs for several months and then the same error code... dF5 returns. When it works the refrigerator is great but the reliability is very low. When the error happens the unit turns off and will not turn back on until the opera iOS rose. If we are gone for any period of time we must make sure all perishables are moved to another unit. This unit looks great and works well when it is working but cannot be left alone for any extended time. I recommendmend another brand...

I purchased this refrigerator about a little more than 3 years ago. Not very happy with the water filter feature. It is very difficult to change water filter when required due to its head assembly sometime do not line up properly with the new replacement filter. I had to return a couple of LG filters as they did not fit properly. Also the design of the freezer section is not good. Its back walls are slanted which make difficult to store frozen boxes properly.

The is the wort appliance we have ever had. The compressor broke after 1-1/2 years. LG has given us a run around on warranty repair. They really are incompetent and seem to want to make it as difficult as possible and to avoid honoring the warranty. We are looking into filing a complaint against them and suing them in addition to asking our local TV station for help and to do a negative story on LG

WE bought a refrigerator gas range and dishwasher a little over a year ago. so far the compressor in the refrigerator was replaced in less than a year. We still dont think it working correctly doesnt seem to keep temperatures steady and runs all the time. We he digital light display on the dishwasher door had to be replaced and we are still waitng for a missing corner piece on the gas range.for almost a year. Your customer service is horrible. Looks great and worked fine at first but the compressor went out 2.5 years into owning it. Nothing was cooling. It comes with a manufacturers warranty on the compressor that covers the part and installation for 5 years which is nice or wed have had to buy a new fridge I was quoted $1600 to replace the compressor. But the appliance techs from two different companies the one I used at first and the one LG used to install my replacement part both told me that all LG compressors fail sooner or later usually sooner because they use a particular rubber part that should be metal in their compressor that wears down and ultimately breaks and it was just a matter of time before I had to buy a new fridge anyway. Unless and until LG makes the part of the compressor in metal I would not buy another LG fridge and encourage others not to either.
